Gina Hinojosa is a lawyer and a sitting member of the Texas House for District 49, in office since January 2017. She was born in McAllen, grew up in Brownsville, and is the daughter of politician Gilberto Hinojosa. She earned a BA at UT Austin and a JD at George Washington University. She began her career as a civil rights lawyer representing union members, and she served on the Austin ISD school board from 2012 to 2016. She is married to John Donisi and has two children.
