How the scale works

Hold the line. Own the flip. Don’t go quiet.

HippoCricket scores whether they stuck, explained, or hid. Changing your mind is allowed. Silence isn’t. Same rules for every party. 1–100. Money never changes the score.

Flipped and stayed silent? That’s Cricket — the one you don’t want. Flipped and said why? That’s Hippo, and that’s allowed. The record didn’t move? That’s Stone. Not a medal. Not an insult. The 1–100 score runs from silent flips at the bottom to a clean file at the top. That’s the whole scale.

Stick is not left versus right. It asks whether the record stayed consistent and whether a change was explained.

Honesty is not the pitch. Honesty is the byproduct. You either own the vote or the record owns you.

HippoCricket is non-partisan and covers politicians of every party with the same method. Every position needs a source — no source, no score. See methodology for how scores are computed.
